Music Machine was the only one of the Digital Press Rarest of the Rare cartridges that I did not acquire new. Actually I had not even learned about this highly elusive cartridge until around 1992 as it had never been advertised in any of the publications that I subscribed to. Based on a successful religious record album of the same name, Music Machine had been released by Sparrow Software sometime in 1982 or 1983 only in Christian bookstores. Demand for it was so low that the cartridge was recalled by Sparrow and destroyed. Thus only a handful have survived. I acquired mine through E-Bay in 1998 for the ungodly price of nearly $200.00. The cartridge that I bought came with the companion record which I eventually sold. Despite the popular misconception, the cartridge had never been originally packaged with the album.
